JOIN ME AT THE GATHERING OF ARTISANS 2020 EVENT!
I'm super excited to be chosen as an intructor for the prestigious Gathering of Artisans (August 26-30th) this year! This is a dream come true for me, it's been on my bucket list since I first attended one back in 2017 (and haven't missed one yet!).
I'll be teaching a brand new workshop called "Whispered Layers".
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION (a video is available on the Gathering of Artisans website):
In this 1-day workshop, you’ll explore the joy and mystery of what I call “whispered layers”: creating beautiful layers on a canvas in response to the whisperings of Holy Spirit as you create.
We will play together with collage and paint, inks and pastels, and other creative goodies on the canvas. Even though I’ll guide you with steps and tips on design, composition, color, and collage techniques, this is also a very intuitive and brave-maker process.

We’ll worship, listen to the promptings of the Spirit, and journal on tissue paper with a Sharpie, which later will be incorporated into the painting. And then…the layering begins. You’ll use various mark making tools, layers of whites and rich colors, multiple water-based media like acrylic paints and inks, and dry media like pastels and charcoal pencils. You’ll end up with a light-layered painting that reflects your personal, unique whisperings from the Father!

All conference instructors, speakers, pricing, and registration became available on the GOA website on April 1, 2020 and it was postponed May 12, 2020. I love that special refund policies were in place in the event of pandemic restrictions, which were honored when canceling the 2020 event. You can STILL go to the website and look at all the yummy goodness that is tentatively planned for 2021!
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE: Gathering of Artisans is the premier conference for Christian artists featuring extended time in the studio in over 50+ workshops with master artist instructors, incredible times of worship in the evenings and plenty of time to fellowship with other artists over 4 days in the mountains of western North Carolina. The event is held at Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
